This site presents information about the current liturgical day in the Latin Rite of the Catholic Church.
Unlike most sites that present such information, it includes material about both the Ordinary and the Extraordinary Forms of the liturgy (meaning: the liturgy as it is experience at most Masses and also the Traditional Latin Mass). This is in keeping with Pope Benedict XVI’s desire that these two forms should enrich each other.
Learning about what is happening in both forms is a first step in that process.
The information presented about the day includes:
- What the day commemorates
- The saints of the day
- The Scripture readings for the day
- An audio version of the readings
- The season
- The liturgical color of the day
- Links to additional information
- Devotional information
You can either stop by the site daily or–better yet–subscribe by email, so that you will have a bright, shiny new email delivered to your inbox every morning with information about that day.

I hope that you find The Liturgical Day informative and spiritually enriching.
P.S. You may be wondering about the header images that appear at the top of the pages on this site. I’ve prepared a special page to explain what they all are.
